Miss Farah delivers another audience hit for MBC

Miss Farah” is the latest MBC4 acquisition to hit the spot with TV audiences, and is now also airing on the regional streaming giant Shahid.

 

 Originally created as a Venezuelan telenovela “Juana la Virgen”, the English language version of the show “Jane the Virgin” has already run for 5 seasons, garnering a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award along the way.

 

The Arabic adaptation for MBC 4 has been created by S Productions, based on a script by Mahmoud Ezzat and Amr Medhat and directed by Ahmed El Gendy.

 

The story focuses on the often hilarious consequences on a young woman’s life after a disastrous but extraordinary medical mistake, and the effects this mistake has on her relationships with her grandmother who is preoccupied with values and morals, her mother who wants her daughter to finish her studies; and her fiance. The cast includes Asma Abu El Yazid, Ahmed Magdy, Rania Youssef, Arifa Abdel Rasoul and Mohamed Kilani.

 

The show originally launched in the new year on MBC4, with its premier delivering a 200% increase in IPTV audiences for MBC4 based on mena.tv research.
