Ooredoo Launches ''YARA'' the Algerian Netflix

Ooredoo Algeria has just launched the “Yara” streaming and video-on-demand platform based in the country and focused on helping Algerians watch their favourite local Drama and Comedy series for free.


According to Wellcom Advertising, the creators of Yara, the platform will focus on Algerian content but will also make international productions available to viewers. By concentrating mainly on local content, they hope to support local producers in the face of increasingly strong competition from abroad.


The platform launches with more than 300 episodes including three new original dramas: “Al khawa“, “Ward Aswad“, “Ouled Lehlal“, and four new original comedies: “Ana w Iyak“, “Casbah City“ and “Bibiche & Bibicha“. The Ramadan hit comedy “Confinement“ will also be exclusively featured on Yara.


Programming is provided in High Definition content, and subscribers have the ability to create a unique user profile with the option of receiving notifications when new programs are broadcast.
