10 buzzy films headed to the Toronto International Film Festival

It’s the buzz generated by the Toronto International Film Festival, which is defying the virus by going ahead with its Sept. 10 to 19 cinema celebration, albeit in a downsized form that’s more of an online and outdoor event.

The pandemic-tailored Toronto International Film Festival may be slimmer with star-free streets this year. But the Sept. 10-19 celebration of cinema still has some hot tickets in its trimmed-down slate, which will screen in a mixture of online and in-person screenings to suit COVID-19 protocols.

Here are 10 titles the team at The Canadian Press is looking forward to:

  1. "Ammonite"
  2. "Beans"
  3. "Bruised"
  4. "David Byrne's American Utopia"
  5. "Inconvenient Indian"
  6. "Nomadland"
  7. "No Ordinary Man"
  8. "One Night in Miami"
  9. "Shiva Baby"
  10. "76 Days"
