Manuel Villanueva, General Director of Content of Mediaset Spain: “We have always said that OTT platforms are for us an opportunity rather than a competition, because we see that the products can have a perfect coexistence in both broadcasts: one in payment, directed to a certain types of clients; and another in the open, which seeks fast, efficient and wide tunings with the public and the two complement each other very well ”.
There are moments when life stops . Literally. The work, family dynamics, routines, social life ... Everything is suspended for a greater cause that requires all our energy and dedication. In the case of a mother, one of those moments comes when a child has to be admitted to a hospital. This is the starting point of the protagonists of 'Mothers. Amor y Vida ' , a medical drama in which a group of very different women meet in a hospital where their respective children receive treatment. Of them, their fears, their camaraderie and their conflicts , as well as their relationship with other patients, family members and healthcare personnel, turn the plots of the series, which Telecinco will premiere next Wednesday, September 9 (10:40 p.m.) with Belén Rueda, Aida Folch, Rosario Pardo, Carmen Ruiz and Carla Díaz at the head of its cast.
After its exclusive premiere on Amazon Prime Video last May, as a result of the agreement reached between this operator and Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group, 'Madres. Amor y Vida 'is now open to prime time on Telecinco. In this sense, Manuel Villanueva, general director of Content of Mediaset Spain, explains that“We have always said that OTT platforms are for us an opportunity rather than a competition, because we see that the products can have a perfect coexistence in both issues: one in payment, aimed at a certain type of customer; and another in the open, which seeks fast, efficient and very wide tunings with the public and the two complement each other very well. This has already happened historically on pay television and free-to-air television with the cinema and I believe that more and more we will all adopt this trend: that when you make a business plan and budget for a series, as when you do that of a movie , you will take into account all the windows in which it has to be exploited ”.
