Albania’s largest media group Klan has launched its first OTT service.
Known as Klan Im, it is based on Antik Technology’s IPTV platform.
Slovakia’s Antik and its local partner Advantech have delivered a full middleware solution, streaming platform and client apps for mobile Android and iOS. According to the company, the system will in due course be further expanded to cover all time-shifting options, and multiple platform including STBs and smart TVs.
Antik notes that less than 24 hours after the start Klan Im already had 10,000 registered mobile (Android and iOS) devices. This is also the company’s third OTT project in the region, with it also having supplied a solution to Albania’s public broadcaster RTSH and the Kosovo fixed-line operator PTK.
Klan owns the TV channels TV Klan and TV Klan Plus, along with the radio station Radio Klan. It also has broadcast interests in Kosovo and North Macedonia.
