First introduced into South Africa, Mondia has announced it, second African market entrant, with the introduction of Monsooq into the Nigerian market.
In a statement, Mondia said it is confident that Nigeria - being Africa's mainstream entertainment content hub as expressed in Nollywood, the second largest film producer in the world (in terms of film numbers) generating upwards of US$7 billion - is a veritable place for it to provide the services offered by the Monsooq platform.
Mondia says Monsooq is unique because its users only "pay for the time spent on consuming content on its platform without the need for long-term commitment contract or even a subscription. According to Mondia Group's chief executive officer, Dr Amadeo Rahmann, the pay-as-you-go model provide flexibility and control, so that "whether a consumer wishes to play a game for 30 minutes while commuting, or binge a new series for six hours, they can load that amount of time to their profile securely using a debit or credit card. And when their time ends, they top up with more".
Rahmann asserted that "Mondia is firmly focused on changing the way people consume entertainment. We have incredible reach and deep understanding of the geographies in which we operate, with over 1.4 billion potential users in these countries."
