Sky and StudioCanal agree on a multi-year rights deal valid from 2021. Sky acquires comprehensive linear and on-demand rights and shows future cinema hits from StudioCanal as exclusive pay-TV and streaming premieres in Germany and Austria. All films can be seen on one of the numerous Sky Cinema channels and are available on demand at any time with Sky Q and the Sky Ticket streaming service.
Upcoming StudioCanal highlights that will be available on Sky as TV-Premiere include the action film "The Gunpowder Milkshake" with Karen Gillan, Guy Ritchie's thriller "Cash Truck" with Jason Statham, the biopic "The Electrical Life of Louis Wain" with Benedict Cumberbatch, the Jojo Moyes “Last Letter from Your Lover” with Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley and the Fantasy movie “Chaos Walking” with Tom Holland.
Philip Stölzl's "Chess Novella" adaptation with Oliver Masucci, Albrecht Schuch and Birgit Minichmayr as well as Katja von Garniers Movie “Fly” and “Hannes” after a Rita-Falk-book are the first locale Sudiocanal productions, which Sky henceforth support.
The agreement also gives Sky access to StudioCanal's extensive film library, which includes cinema highlights such as "The Hunger Games" and the "Paddington" series and many movies of the “Arthouse”-Label.
